Life certainly came at Florida State University Quarterback, De’Andre Johnson fast, after he punched Abigail Husty in the face in a bar in Tallahassee, Fl.

The incident took place on June 24, at Yianni’s nightclub, when Husty became hostile towards Johnson and the two appear to start arguing. Husty is then seen raising a fist towards Johnson, at which point he grabs her arm and she tries to hit him with her free arm. After missing him, he punches her hard in the face and backs away out of the range of the camera. Husty is seen, grabbing her face and trying to keep her balance against the barĀ as another young woman walks up to check on her.

Initially, after learning about the incident, FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher, announced that Johnson was suspended indefinitely. After the nightclub’s surveillance video was released Monday, showing the altercation in its entirety, Johnson was dismissed from the football team.

To this point, De’Andre Johnson has been charged with battery.

Court documents indicate that Abigail Husty suffered bruising below her left eye, a cut on the bridge of her nose and swelling to her left cheek and upper lip. She also claims that she raised her fist in self-defense because she wanted Johnson to let go of her.

While it is clear from the video that De’Andre Johnson was not the initial aggressor, his family wants to take the lead in helping him learn and grow from this experience. He is currently participating in community service, and faith-based programs focused on battered women, substance abuse, and the empowerment of children,” said his attorney, Jose Baez. “This was not the way he was raised. He feels very ashamed, embarrassed and apologetic over the whole incident.

We’ve got to ask, what are they feeding these FSU football players because this is now the second case involving a star quarterback in less than five years! Remember this year’s number one pick, Jameis Winston? He was accused of raping a young lady back in 2012.

With so much attention of the NFL’s treatment of women, now the heat’s on the NCAA.
