Miami fans couldn’t be happier that Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino is back with the Dolphins. After several months of discussion, 52-year-old Marino finally accepted a position in Miami’s front office as special adviser. The owner of the Dolphins, Stephen Ross, issued a statement saying:

Dan is and will always be an important part of the Miami Dolphins, and we are excited to get him involved in a more formal way.

Ross followed with a glowing remark about Dan Marino:

He is unquestionably one of the greatest players in NFL history and his enthusiasm and passion for the Dolphins is inspiring to everyone here.

Marino spent 17 years playing quarterback for the Miami Dolphins and said that he’s always considered himself a “Dolphin for life” and looks forward to “supporting the organization” anyway he can. Dan returned the compliments to Dolphins owner saying:

Stephen Ross is a passionate guy who is committed to building a first-class, winning organization.

With Dan Marino back with the Dolphins, no doubt fans along with Marino, are excited about the future of the Miami Dolphins.

Fans might remember that this won’t be Marino’s first job in the Miami font office. In 2004, he served as the team’s senior vice president of football operations but resigned just three weeks later, citing family reasons. Since retiring from the NFL, he worked for CBS from 2002 to 2013 as a football analyst; however, CBS announced that Marino would not return as one of hosts for the network’s Sunday pregame show in 2014.

Dan Marino is still an all-time leader in numerous passing categories for the Dolphins, and his No. 13 football jersey, retired by the Dolphins, is still very popular with Dolphin fans after all these years!
