After trying to rob a Florida teen and his mother at knifepoint, a robber is now in custody, beaten and bloodied, facing charges of attempted armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The incident took place outside a Lakeland gas station, with would-be robber Luther Dunn, commanding that the teen, Nate Stewart, give him money for gas. Stewart walked away from Dunn, entering the gas station and retrieving his mother; however, as the mother and son approached their car, Dunn was waiting for them with a knife drawn.

Stewart, unwilling to succumb to the robber’s advances, grabbed a tire iron out of his mom’s trunk and beatdown Dunn.

The guy ran up on him, and Nate popped him. [He] picked him up, flipped him upside down and dropped him on his head.

Dunn was swiftly arrested by deputies of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and in his mugshot, he’s seen with blood running down his face and a visible black eye and fat lip.

Stewart had one message for any other robbers who tried to strike his family, “Good luck.”

This isn’t to say every person should go out and fight off armed robbers with a tire iron, but that Florida teen wasn’t having it on that day! Go ‘head then, son.
